Smoldering Phoenix

The strings leave
too much slack

Their balls to small
to fill their sacks

They crumble and fall
Eager for the pain to end

The puppeteer stalks,
Checks the strings

Attached, he kicks them
They lie still

They gather their string and
Wait for their time.
